Climate Cafe

Local therapist Anna Lentz has been hosting Climate Cafes around town for some time and we are deeply honored that she will is bringing this offering to the burial ground.

Climate Cafes are facilitated conversation spaces to connect from the heart about our feelings regarding the climate crisis, in the company of engaged, supportive others. This Climate Cafe is held in the awareness that our mental health and the world we are a part of are inextricably connected. This conversation space allows you to share your personal responses to ecological and related systemic concerns.

This space is not group therapy nor considered a substitute for care from a mental health provider. 

Climate Cafes are:

• An informal, open, respectful, confidential space to safely share emotional responses and reactions related to the climate and environmental emergency 

• A space for exploration of thoughts, feelings and experiences rather than what we are DOING about the climate crisis.

• A quiet, reflective experience - a space from usual busyness and activity.

• Not designed to lead anyone to any conclusion or toward action 

• Available for individuals 16 years of age and older. If you are (or know of) a younger person who'd like to attend, please get in touch.

We will be meeting outdoors, so dress for the weather. Folding chairs will be provided. If you anticipate needing more physical support, please consider bringing a cushion, camp chair or blanket. Anna will provide iced herbal tea and light refreshments. Consider bringing a reusable cup or mug.

We will meet in the barn. This event is limited to 10 people, with a waitlist. This event is free and open to the public.
